National Informatics Center is the nodal Information Technology organization for informatics development and networking in Government and Government related Organizations. NICNET facility has been established at all the districts of our country to facilitate informatics development for decision support and information exchange. It’s being a satellite based communication & network system.
NIC District Centre Balaghat was Commissioned in November 1st 1988 in the Collectorate building adjacent to the treasury office in a room 27 X 20 comprising of a computer room and a server room. Thus NIC Balaghat became a part of the Unix Network that was connecting most of the districts in India at that time. Two Officers , District Informatics Officer (DIO) and District Informatics Associate (DIA) are posted in NIC. Later by 2004 Video Conferencing Facility was established in NIC by renovating the existing building.
Infrastructure in NIC
The Infrastructure of NIC Balaghat consists of 2 server and 4 clients ,Laser printer, Satellite equipments , Video Conferencing equipments etc for the smooth functioning of the computers works in the district
Activities and Achievements
Services of NIC
With the help of DirecWay4020 VSAT system with the committed data transfer rate of 8/32 kbps we provides Email and Internet facility to the District Administration and deals the email and data communications of district with the state and central administration
We Provide Video Conferencing facility (DAMA SCPC VSAT technology) to the district administration and other government departments enabling various meetings like departmental meetings , collector conferences, secretary level meetings a reality through the state of art technology.
We provide dial-up Email facility to the 10 janpad panchayats, and various departments like SP office, PHE, PWD , Tribal etc..For that we have maintained a server with RAS Finder and 2 dedicated telephone line.
We give technical support to the Collector and various departments in the form of development of software according to the requirement of the administration, Implementation of the software developed by the NIC state Unit ,imparting training to the officials and staff of various departments.

District Court computerisation
|
In January 2000
District court Computer centre was established ,NIC
has
provided all technical guidance in identifying the Server room, laying
out the power cables and LAN cables by P.W.D. (E&M). One ECIL Pentium
Server with LBFN OS and 4 terminals were installed one at DJ’s chamber,
2 at ADJ’s
courts and rest in Computer room with the help of line drivers and telephone cables and with the help of RS232 cable. Important software packages
like Uniplex, District Court Information System (DCIS), and Payroll have
been implemented.

Computerized the whole sector wise informations about the infrastructure available in villages of balaghat |

Computerised the recruitment drive of SC/ST for various post of Education Department |

Nagar Sampark Abhiyan
|
Computerized the Data accumulated by the Nagar Sampark program and made various types of statistics based on different criterias. |

Deals with scrutiny of application forms , Release of rank list and various other reports and whole process of recruitment was computerized |
| Relief Works Software

Deals with
the scarcity relief works executed during drought and flood season. This
software was implemented time to time with the necessary modifications
and is still n use.

| Election Software
|
Computerized the election
of assembly ,loksabha, Nagarpalika ,Mandi and Panchayat since the formation of
NIC , in the recent elections separate modules were developed for counting,
turnout, training orders,dutyorders etc

Implemented the software in Mandi , organised workshops , providing technical support for the transmission of data and other related matters |

Implemeted the Software ,done the monitoring of data entry, and transmission of data. |
| Land Records (CLRMP)
|
Implemented
the CLRMP software in 6 tehsils and dissemination of khasra
reports , monitoring the data entry , data updation and data backup and
continuous technical support. Also a no of trainings were conducted.

| HEAD START Project | This Project
under Rajiv gandhi Siksha Mission was implemeted in about 49 Schoold
through out the district. Computers were supplied by NICSI and NIc
provided technical support and made this project a success.

This is major
projects dealing with 11 departments , data entry of information
compiled by nodal officers are done in NIC and send to bhopal
monthly..and Non performing reports are distributed to Collector and
higher authorities.

with the monitoring of the Cases in various revenue courts like ADM,SDM,
Tehsildhar etc

Monitoring of
pending letters of HOD's of various departments, its implemented
in collectorate and Zila Panchayat.
